Warning Signs

Is Your Gutter Telling You Something?

Sagging or Hanging Off

Usually weak or broken hangers — fixable before the whole run comes down.

Leaking Seams & Corners

Drips at joints mean failed sealant — or gutters old enough to replace.

Disconnected Downspout

Water dumping at the wall instead of away from it — a fast, cheap fix.

Overflowing in Rain

Blockage or bad pitch — water spilling over the edge instead of draining.

Water in the Basement

Often a gutter problem, not a foundation one — water isn't being carried away.

Rotting Fascia

Soft, stained wood behind the gutter — we repair it so hangers hold again.

Honest Advice

Repair or Replace? We'll Tell You Straight.

Sometimes we arrive for a repair and find gutters that are past saving. Here's how we call it:

A Repair Makes Sense When…

  • The damage is localized — one seam, one section, one downspout
  • The gutters are seamless and structurally sound
  • The fascia behind them is still solid

Replacement Is Smarter When…

  • They were installed with spike & ferrule — likely 20+ years old
  • There are seams along the run — the leak will keep coming back
  • Heavy color fade or widespread fascia rot

If replacement is the right call, we'll quote seamless gutters on the spot — with GreenSky® financing available on projects of $4,000+. See our installation page →

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does gutter repair cost?
Repair costs depend on the extent of the damage — a resealed corner is very different from replacing rotted fascia. Send us a few photos and we'll give you a fast, honest, free assessment.
Should I repair my gutters or replace them?
It depends on age and condition. If your gutters were installed with spike and ferrule, have seams along the run, or show heavy color fade, they're likely 20+ years old and replacement is often the smarter investment. During your free estimate we'll tell you honestly which one makes sense.
Do you repair gutters you didn't install?
Yes. We repair existing gutter systems of any brand or age — leaking seams, sagging runs, detached downspouts, pitch problems, and fascia damage.
Can you fix rotted fascia behind the gutter?
Yes. Rotted fascia is one of the most common problems we find behind failing gutters. We repair or replace the fascia board so the new hangers have solid wood to anchor into.
Do you always come out in person for the estimate?
Not always — for many repairs, a few photos are enough for us to prepare an honest written quote remotely. Larger jobs get an on-site visit. Either way, the quote is free and no-obligation.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Gutters Matter® is a Virginia DPOR licensed Class A Contractor (License No. 2705191425) and is fully insured.
